WORKS PROGRESS AT KELSO HIGH SCHOOL

The conversion of the former Kelso High School into apartments for Eildon Housing Association provides an opportunity to showcase some of the key elements of our approach as a Practice.

By providing shared facilities for the new residents and those living locally we help to strengthen our local communities.

The adaptive reuse of the existing building retains the original embodied carbon, while improvements to the building fabric and heating systems reduce the generation of new operational carbon, all of this helps to contribute towards NetZero.

The retention of many original Art Deco features and details provide an important connection to our shared history and the stories of those who’ve used the building in the past.

We’re excited to see the work completed in 2023.
