We’re proud to celebrate the completion of the Howdenburn development at Capon Drive in Jedburgh — an important project that will provide much-needed affordable homes and create lasting benefits for the local community.
Delivered in partnership with Cruden Homes and SBHA, this major affordable housing scheme has transformed the site of a former primary school into 70 new affordable homes, helping to meet local housing needs while creating a welcoming place for people to live.
At the heart of the development is a thoughtfully designed landscaped green space that retains existing mature trees, creating an attractive environment for residents while encouraging opportunities for interaction, recreation and a strong sense of community.
The project also delivers wider regeneration benefits through the redevelopment of an underused brownfield site, bringing land back into productive use, supporting long-term community sustainability and contributing to local economic activity throughout the construction process.
Project completions like this are particularly rewarding as they represent more than new buildings — they create places where communities can grow and thrive, while delivering long-term positive impact for the people who will call them home.
“I have to admit, it was genuinely emotional to see the completed development and the original vision finally brought to life — not something I say very often. As SBHA’s largest development to date, it has been exceptionally well received, with many positive comments from residents and stakeholders alike. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with SBHA on future projects.”
