AT celebrates Fairhurst drive housing completion

Team AT at Fairhurst Drive Open Day in Burnfoot.

Ben and Gavin from the Aitken Turnbull team recently attended the Fairhurst Drive Open Day in Burnfoot, celebrating the successful completion of a 12-home development. The project was delivered in collaboration with our client, Scottish Borders Housing Association (SBHA), and key partner, the JR Group. Our design team played a crucial role in bringing this development to life, ensuring high-quality, sustainable homes for the community.

The open day, organised by SBHA, marked the unveiling of 12 newly constructed housing units. It was great to see local Councillor Carol Hamilton there to support the event which was officially inaugurated by Julia Mulloy, SBHA’s Chief Executive.

The project involved transforming a former factory site into a vibrant residential area. The 12 new homes offer a diverse mix of options, ranging from one and two-bedroom bungalows to three and four-bedroom apartments, catering to the needs of the local community. The architectural design involves brick and timber cladding, with a palette of grey and cream colours, lending a fresh and modern appearance to the neighbourhood.

In line with our commitment to sustainability, these homes are equipped with solar panels and electric vehicle charging points, fostering an eco-friendly living environment.

“It was great to receive such positive feedback from the client, local councillor, and consultants, and to see the positive impact we’re making on the local community.”
