Wordsworth Hotel

Named after the poet William Wordsworth, this hotel was built in the mid 19th century within a conservation area.

The Wordsworth Hotel & Spa is named after the poet William Wordsworth. Operating as a hotel since build in the mid-19th and located in the heart of Grasmere village within the Conservation area.

The proposed redevelopment of the Wordsworth hotel provides additional rooms – with ground floor access to generous mature landscaped gardens and first floor balconies provide magnificent views of the surroundings.

The principles of the design – a contemporary designs approach that sits comfortably alongside the old fabric and aim to contribute to the existing appearance. Fundamental in achieving the architecture where old and new complement each other. Massing is carefully considered to reflect the existing scale, intentionally subordinate to the existing hotel building.

Designed by fusing new technologies with older building techniques whilst incorporating sustainability ideals to create a viable solution for the future.
