A LOOK INSIDE POYNDER APARTMENTS

We had a fantastic afternoon on Wednesday visiting one of our recently completed projects, the former Kelso High School building now Eildon Housing Associations Extra Care Facility, Poynder Apartments.

AT were brought on board as design and build architects for the project and the Category B Art Deco building has been sensitively transformed into 34 one bedroom and 2 two bedroom self contained flats.

While attending the open day we couldn’t miss an opportunity to capture a picture of Alistair, one of our Associates who is a former KHS pupil and who worked on the project back in the building where he has so many fond memories.

Alistair noted: ‘I am delighted to have been present at the opening of Poynder Apartments – the former Kelso High School. I left the school in 1984 to study Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art, I never imagined I’d be involved in giving the building a new lease of life and hopefully safeguarding its future. It’s a building that many in Kelso and the surrounding area hold in high regard and has played a significant part in many lives so it has been a very special project to be involved in.

The transformation of such an important building has been one followed with great interest by many in the town of Kelso and we hope that the buildings new occupants enjoy the space for years to come.
