NEW GOVERNMENT HUB COMPLETES

Queen Elizabeth House, the 18,000m2 Flagship UK Government Hub in Edinburgh has been completed and handed over to HMRC.

Aitken Turnbull Architects were delighted to lead the design and delivery of the fit out with Wates Smartspace for this exciting project, bringing together almost 3000 Government Employees in a single building. The £23m fit out provides ministerial accommodation for the Secretary of State for Scotland and Advocate General for Scotland as well as a new HMRC Hub and other Government departments.

Starting on site in July 2019 the project was completed in August 2020 with the final months of work having to be undertaken under the restrictions of the COVID-19 measures.

The completed building provides flexible contemporary workspace with a specific focus on occupant wellbeing, and benefits from stunning views across Edinburgh.
