JETHART CREATIVE QUARTER

Aitken Turnbull is delighted to share that we’ve submitted a planning application on behalf of the Jedburgh Community Trust for the Jethart Creative Quarter. This exciting project is located in Jedburgh’s historic conservation area, encompassing the former Grants Bakery, part of the Grade A listed Porthouse, an underused courtyard, and adjacent disused garages.

Developed with the community over several years, our vision is to revitalize this section of town. We aim to redevelop a disused site, upgrade the existing courtyard, and create a new pend to enhance connectivity. This project will invigorate the area, offering creative spaces and flexible studio accommodations for the town’s growing artist community. The new Creative Quarter has the potential to spur further development.

The bakery will be beautifully renovated over three floors, and a new pend will connect the existing courtyard to Grahamslaw Close. The garages at 4 Grahamslaw Close, no longer needed, will be thoughtfully redeveloped into new townhouses to help fund the project.

Aitken Turnbull is excited to continue working with the community to bring this vision to life.
